Jeffrey J. Spamer
Born and raised in New York, Jay Spamer
chose Arizona as his home after first arriving in 1991 to work as a
manager for the Phoenician Resort.
In 1996, following his second year at
Rutgers University School of Law, Jay came back to Arizona to serve as
an extern with U.S. District Court Judge Roger G. Strand. A year later,
having fallen in love with the desert climate and culture of the
Southwest, Jay returned to Phoenix to practice law and raise his family.
Jay has been with Thomas, Thomas & Markson
since 1998 and became a partner in 2006. He is licensed in both New
Jersey and Arizona. His practice encompasses all areas of civil tort
litigation with an emphasis on
automobile liability defense,
product
liability, conservatorships and guardianships.
Jay’s recent achievements include winning
one of the year’s most significant Arizona defense verdicts (as
described in Arizona Attorney magazine) in a multi-party,
multi-million-dollar wrongful death case. He also successfully argued,
before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, a recent wrongful death
action involving the Federal Tort Claims Act.
Jay’s interests outside the firm revolve
around his family and includes a passion for photography and the
culinary arts. He explores desert trails on his mountain bike, plays
tennis and golf, and is an accomplished skier.
